On 28 January 2020 the coordinator of the SPOT project, Professor Milada Šťastná from the Faculty of AgriSciences at Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU), together with Professor Vojtěch Adam, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, and Vice-Dean Associate Professor Hana Středová officially opened the two-day kick-off meeting. The meeting was attended by 45 participants, representatives of partners from 14 European countries and Israel. The project will extend existing policies and present new approaches to addressing issues arising from cultural tourism. The aim of the project is to bring a completely new approach to understand the issues of cultural tourism; solutions with an emphasis on supporting the development of disadvantaged regions are a key focus. The meeting included an excursion to the Lednice-Valtice area and to Pavlov as part of a case study in South Moravia. The next project meeting will take place in spring 2021 in Romania.
