Call for Papers
While the magnitude of challenges vary across borders, external shocks from the COVID-19 pandemic to the climate crisis highlighted the pivotal role local governments play in response to a crisis. It emphasized not just the importance of strengthening functions to withstand these shocks, but also highlighted the importance of revisiting and adapting new principles and approaches, building smart and resilient local governments to adapt to these challenges. The workshop addresses the aspects of the functioning of local governments in responding to challenges of the pandemic and climate crisis and the implications for the future of local governance.
Abstracts are especially welcome on the following topics:
• Local Government and the Response to Climate Emergency / Climate Change
• Local Government and the Response to Covid-19 Pandemic
• Smart Cities and Smart Local Governance
